Did slug training work? Maybe. That is definitely not fennel he is munching on. Also, notice his nice "coffee" coloring? I wonder if is is evidence he had absorbed a little of the coffee grounds around the fennel (& now around the tomatoes also)??

Coffee grounds seem to work for us in our shade garden and hillside garden. I've been hesitant to use it in the potager for feer my produce will taste like coffee! A new thing I'm trying around my lettuce and chard is cut rosemary branches laid between the rows. Appears to be working quite nicely. Don't know if it's the aroma or having to crawl over the rough branches that's deterring the creepy crawlies.
