Goodbye? Hello!

Packing again?  Really?  What about us?

Nikko doesn't have to worry.   DH will be here for her.   They won't be so happy to see me.  They have a vet appointment the first morning I'm home.  But, they don't know about that either.

Glad You're Home

Do you think Nikko missed me?   The chair next to me wasn't close enough.  She inserted herself between me and the computer.  I don't know how to tell her at least the next trip will be shorter.

Napping Lessons

This is the look of a content cat once again in possession of her favorite napping place (& her stuffed cat).

Today, my plan was to follow Maria's training and nap in between a dentist appointment and my evening schedule. I'm not a good student, though.  I did take it easy outside and watch the tadpoles (some now with legs).

Her spot is on top of a bookshelf.  To get there, she uses the windowsill out of the picture on the right.

In the Garden

The new residents have been in the garden with me. It didn't take old Missouri long to find the catnip in the garden. He is around 17 years and doesn't seem to see well. Try to keep him in sight, though, and he is gone in a flash! He seems to remember how to find the garage door, at least.

The beans are starting to reach the bean climber. Really, this is the last year for the now wobbly bean climber!

Cindy (Cinders or Cinderella) is all about meat though! I think she is checking out a critter trail. I hope she doesn't go after the Petunias (snakes).

I'm trying to fit a little garden clean up in each night. While I've been occupied, it became quite the jungle. But that also makes for happy garden critters.

Happy October

This is a reminder of the beautiful weather we had last week. This week has been different!

Here's Emily harvesting her catnip.

This came from some mixed sunflower seeds. It is the first time I've had one like this. Under all that fluff is a full sunflower seedhead! I didn't expect that.

I'll be away from the keyboard for some days. I'm looking forward to catching up with you then. And you know you'll be seeing Petunia's Pumpkins soon!

Indoor Garden Pests

As noted earlier, the Pacific Tree Frog nightly singing contest seems to be having some affect on Maria's behavior. She found my little Ilidi tomato seedlings sitting in the kitchen after they sprouted and were removed from the "oven."
This one had the leaves nipped off and the other in the same pot was pulled out. Fortunately, another pot was not touched. So I added seeds and stuck this pot back in the "oven," while the survivor went out to the Maria-less garage under the light.

Snow Recovery

How Maria spent the snowy day...even after the snow melted, and we moved on to buckets of rain. That's the heater vent she is covering.
