 The purple sprouting broccoli from last year is now sprouting! 

White Castle for Defense of Peas

Ummm...I’ve been watching alternating shows of Monte Don’s Gardener’s World and Grand Designs.  Welcome to the Spring Garden, including the White (cloth) Castle to protect the peas from the deer or rabbits and/or birds who attacked them last year.  Also a wonderful red leaf lettuce and some broccoli seedlings planted. (The bean tower is in the further back bed.

Also, here is the current view in the cloche. 

First harvest!

I had started some kale from seed and transplanted to the cloche some time ago.  Today, I weeded the cloche and added broccoli seedlings.  And had our first harvest of kale leaves!

Spring Starts 2021

In the fall, I moved two perennials from the former garden bed space that now is part of the pathways.  I'm happy to report both have accepted their transplanting - a hellebore and an Oriental poppy. The hellebore  is currently blooming and also snowdrops and a single crocus (that one should be moved too).
