On May 20th, I noticed the first blossom on the snow peas. This is one that I started inside and transplanted. Last year, the
first open blossom was on June 4th. On May 13th, I planted a few more pea seeds in gaps along the pea fence. I saw last tonight that they are breaking ground.

I see the ladybird (or ladybug as some countries call them)is ready to pounce on any aphids in your last years photo...No doubt it's offspring will be helping you this year.
Hi there,
Came across your lovely blog, and as a greenkeeper (Turf Management, but I am a hort at heart) loved it!
So much so, I have added you nto our blog roll!

I'm finding my first pea blossoms now, too, with little pea pods forming. It won't be long now!
Great photo!!! Love the color, the closeup, the texture, everything! May have to hop the fence and take a peak in person!
I have blossoms on my pea vines too. This is all rather exciting because last year at this time my pea plants were barely 6" tall.
Re. your comment, I think that weather sticker is actually reporting the weather on the Plateau, or perhaps in Renton. At the actual Weather Underground site I have the default set to a personal weather station at the base of Tiger Mountain, which always records colder nights and sometimes warmer days. But I haven't figured out how to get my blog to display that data instead of the "official" weather.
Forgot to mention, I love love love your pea vine photo!
