Garden Sun

In spite of the overcast days this week, the first sunflower has blossomed. He has quite a lead on the other sunflowers in the garden. I did plan seeds from a new mixture so I'm looking forward to the sunflower surprises.

Link to his young sprout days.

Thank you!
That has brightened my day seeing a sunflower in full bloom while it's icy cold here down under!

A sunflower in full bloom like this one, is a glorious creation indeed.
I think sunflowers make people smile and lift their spirits. Plus, of course, birds love their seeds.

This is the first self-seeded sunflower. It sprouted when it was ready and is ahead of any I planted. Sunflowers make me and the birds smile. I love having them in the garden. And the photos bring back the warm summer days even in the winter!

Oh, that's a great one! Love the rust colored centers of the petals. My self-seeded ones (the only ones I've had for years now) look like they might start flowering maybe next week. Yours must be supremely happy!
