Yesterday, we found these signs of another cold front that moved through the pumpkin patch. It felt like it would be another cold evening, so we put the full cover on the cloche to protect the patty pan squash. Just in case, we also picked some of the baby squash for dinner and many tomatoes.
Tonight, an actual frost advisory has been given... but back to a nice 60 degree day tomorrow.

We had an early killing frost last week on Oct. 8th, a full three weeks earlier than last year. It got down to 24 degrees which wiped out everything. Good-bye garden..sigh.
We are just at the stage where frost is imminent most nights now. I am just trying to keep everything growing for as long as possible. BTW, I have had the same spam messages from China too! some sort of automated sending.
Shame the frost come so quickly, we don't seem to have had a long summer do we???
Frost has hit here and all my pumpkins are safely gathered in - a nice feeling huh?
