Fence Rose Season

This has been a good year for the roses that grow in our pasture fence line.  They grew for years under the care of the neighbors who lived in this area long before the rest of us.  The roses have adapted to life on their own.
These red ones are visible from across our yard, especially when the afternoon and evening sun shines on them.

This one has a soft rose aroma too.  I think it is a type called a moss rose because of the mossy texture on the buds and stems.

I have a rose that has sprouted in my garden.  It may be some time before I know if it related to these or to the wild rose that grows on our hillside.
