Along with the paintings and other art, this Prairie installation at the Wichita Art Museum was more of an audio experience. It has speakers at the tops of those vertical wires. They emit different clicks and sounds at different intervals. The wires also move a little due to small motors at their base.
Overall, it sounds like the insects, rain and grasses moving in the breeze on the prairie!
Liza Lou's Gather (one million). Made with 9 million beads on 1 million wires, arranges in mini wheat shocks.

In between rain showers, my mother, brother and I visited Har-Ber Village in Grove, OK.
In the mid 1800 - early 1900, there were a lot of coffee choices!
It's a pretty spot on Grand Lake with lots to see and gardens to wander.

Rocks have been one of our garden specialties. We were ready to remove some again and our 1989 wheelbarrow was having issues.
A new wheel and we are ready to go. Time to remove both the bed endcap stones and all the rocks that collect throughout the garden. Gradually, that is. Instead of weeding in the nice summer evenings, I'll be stone/rock hunting to prepare for a fresh tilling of the whole space.

DH tackled the overgrown garden area.
See this link for monthly garden views from prior years.
It had all been tall grass. Part way through with the weed-eater...
Trimmed. Now I will pick up the stones used at the end of each bed, and other large rocks, before we can start over.
Hmmm... from August 2008....
