Salad?

The once little broccoli seedlings are quickly taking over the lettuce. We harvest lettuce about every evening, but it looks like I need to harvest more. Last year, the broccoli was too close together. With growing still to do, I think they'll be about right. Don't worry, there is more lettuce stashed throughout the garden. And some more little broccoli seedlings too. I spy a calendula volunteer in there, also.

Your lettuce are working well as a catch crop...I do like a green salad myself.

I spotted the first blossoms on my peas, too! And guess what I got from my neighbour (a very experienced gardener) last week-end! Broccoli seedlings! It's the first time I have them in the garden this year and I am really looking forward to seeing how they will grow!

Have a great week-end!

your broccoli plants look great--so big and sturdy. Something's missing in my soil because the plants tend to stay spindly and bear poorly. I'm thinking it's a boron deficiency.
