Countdown to Sunflowers...

What will it take? One more sunny day? This is the volunteer that has taken up residence next to the peas. The volunteers all have many blossoms along the main stems. I've had to trim a few shoots heading into the pathways and into the tomato, but otherwise I'll leaving them to do their thing.

Wow! I don't think I've ever seen a sunflower mid-bloowm before. It's just beautiful and so striking! I think it's even more beautiful now than in full bloom.

Oh, you are making me anticipate my sunflowers. Mine are intentional (not volunteers). So far they are still putting on heighth and no flower in sight. Yours is fabulous.

The volunteers are way ahead of the intentional ones I planted a bit late. Volunteers always seem to be the happiest plants as they picked out their own spot! Plus they can sprout when the time is right. I could grow just sunflowers, pumpkins and now pole/runner beans and be quite content!
